1. Window
You may request a refund of the amount you paid us for a Clippingli Desktop License within seven (7) calendar days of the purchase time (the time we received payment or issued the key, whichever we can document first). After that window, sales are final except where Section 6 (mandatory law) requires otherwise.
The window is seven days, not seven business days, and not thirty days.
2. Who can ask
The buyer of record - the email we have on the license, or the email that paid. We may ask you to confirm you control that inbox. We will not refund a key to a third party who found the key online.
3. How to request
Email support@clippingli.com from the purchase email with:
- subject line including “Refund”
- the license key, or enough of the order/invoice id for us to find it
- a short reason (optional; we do not require a reason inside the 7-day window)
We aim to confirm within a few business days. Refunds go back by the original payment method when the processor allows it; otherwise by a method we agree in writing. Processor fees we cannot recover may be deducted only if the law allows and we tell you first - our default is to refund the amount you paid us.
4. What happens to the license
When we approve a refund we disable the key. The app rechecks about every 72 hours while online and may keep working offline for up to 14 days after the last successful check, then lock. You must stop using the app. You must not keep sharing the key.
If you already requested a chargeback, tell us. A refund and a chargeback for the same payment is payment abuse; we may block the key and contest the chargeback.
5. Digital supply
The product is a license key and installer for software. We supply it by email and download when you buy. Asking us to send the key is a request for immediate performance of digital content.
Activation or use inside the 7-day window does not by itself cancel this commercial refund. We would rather take the key back than fight a 7-day request.
6. Mandatory consumer law
If you are a consumer and the law of your country gives you a longer or different right (including certain EEA/UK digital-content or withdrawal rules), that law applies to the extent it cannot be waived. This 7-day policy is our commercial rule. It does not attempt to take away a non-waivable statutory right.
Where the law lets a withdrawal right end because you asked for immediate supply of digital content and acknowledged that consequence, you still have this 7-day commercial refund unless that law requires more.
7. What we do not refund under this policy
- OpenAI or other third-party API charges (those are billed by the provider to you)
- your time, hardware, or lost project files
- a second refund on a key we already refunded
- purchases we reasonably believe are fraudulent
We may still refund later as a gesture. That is not a change to this policy unless we say so in writing for your order.
