Clipping runs on your Mac or PC. You need an OpenAI API key. A separate graphics card is not required.

Does the video upload to Clippingli for render?

No. Clipping happens on your computer. We do not take the master onto a Clippingli render farm. AI features use your OpenAI key from this machine. License checks, optional job telemetry, and optional preview links also send some data. See the Privacy Policy.

Do I need an OpenAI key?

Yes. You control the AI bill. Paste it once in Settings. It stays on that computer. We do not mark tokens up as a plan. A weekly 60-minute show is usually a few dollars a month. Step-by-step: how to get a key.

What does lifetime mean?

It is a one-time payment. “Lifetime” means while we commercially offer and support the current product and you follow the Terms. It is not a promise that servers, updates, or third-party APIs last forever. If we shut down verification, the app may lock after the 14-day offline grace. Full definition: Terms, Sections 5 and 8.

Who is the seller?

What computer do I need?

Apple Silicon Mac, Intel Mac from 2018, or 64-bit Windows 10/11. Minimum 8 GB memory and 15 GB free disk. 16 GB and an SSD if you clip several videos. An OpenAI API key is required. Minimum and recommended specs.
